USA, Wanderlust

La La Land

If you ever read my Australian travel stories, you know I have always wanted to do a roadtrip through the USA. We started to save up some money (a roadtrip in the USA is definitely not cheap) and booked an RV and plane tickets to Los Angeles. We went in October because the rentals are more affordable and the national parks less busy. After picking up our RV, we drove from California to Arizona, Utah, Nevada and ended back our trip back in Cali.

Today I want to show you some of our pictures from Los Angeles. LA is also known as the city of angels or the city of dreams. We started our day in Santa Monica and explored Venice Beach. Santa Monica is really cosy and also the perfect place to recover from a long flight. Unfortunately it was a bit cloudy as you can see in the pictures. We had lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. I ordered a healthy salad and quickly noticed the portions are much bigger in comparison to Europe. One mainly visits TCF for the cakes and I understand why. The cheesecakes are insane, so never leave this country without trying them! When you are visiting LA, a visit to Hollywood is also absolutely mandatory. We did the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and walked our way to the Hollywood Sign. The hike to the sign is quite intensive, so don’t forget to take some water as the temperatures can get really high. We also walked to Griffith Observatory, a magical place. The views you get over the city are incredible. We visited at sunset so there were lots of people. Seeing the sun set at GO is really beautiful so I would definitely recommend going there. Don’t forget to go inside the Observatory too. One of the most memorable days of our trip was a day trip to Universal Studio’s. If you love theme or amusements parks and also like Universal productions, then this is your place to be. It’s quite expensive to enter but it really is worth every penny. We did some amazing 4D attractions, walked through Hogwarts and Springfield and went on a guided tour through the studios, visiting famous moviesets such as Jaws.
